THE SIGNIFICANCE OF CLINICAL AND LABORATORY CRITERIA IN THE EARLY DIAGNOSIS OF POSTHYPOXIC COMPLICATIONS IN NEWBORNS BORN WITH HYPOXIA

The problem of studying the perinatal consequences in children who underwent asphyxia at birth, despite the fact that sufficient attention is paid to it, remains relevant, due to the high level of mortality and neurological consequences.
In the structure of childhood disability, lesions and the nervous system account for about 50% of cases, with 70-80% of cases occurring in perinatal lesions. The most common cause of perinatal damage to the central nervous system is hypoxic-ischemic brain damage, the consequences of which occupy a leading place in the structure of morbidity and mortality in children of the neonatal period and young age [1,4,5].
By the time of birth, the baby’s brain is immature, especially the cerebral hemispheres. The main damaging factor in newborns is hypoxia, which leads to both hypoxemia and brain ischemia, predisposing to the development of PCNS. However, it is worth noting that not all children who have undergone hypoxia have severe neurological effects [3].
